For @mdpthatsme, and anyone else who'south interested.
Long Explanation under the cutting.
You find your config-log.txt in the logs binder in your game folder in my documents:
\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims ii\Logs\ for CD/DVD players and
\My Documents\Origin\The Sims two\Logs\ for ultimate collection players.
There's lots of information in it, but really only the top bit, and the lesser fleck are needed to work out what'south happening.
What's bolded is the interesting bit - all the residuum really isn't important for working out what the problem is. The flake in italics is the explanation.
When you desire to work out what the trouble is from a graphics card point of view you lot need to exercise the following
1. Work out if you have enough CPU, Memory, and Texture Retentivity for High Resolution. (You can become this info all in the superlative scrap).
2. Spring to the lesser bit, and find out if your game is in high or low resolution by checking boolProp enumerateMultisampleLevels. If it'due south true then your in high resolution, otherwise you're in low.
3. Become to http://world wide web.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.php?tid=6888
Pick the graphic rules that matches what y'all've got - In this example, It's INTEL, and there's no trouble with the texture retention.
Then check the device number: Chipset: Vendor: 8086, Device: 0a16, and option the video card rules that matches the Device - in this example it'due south going to be Video Cards - INTEL - a016.rar
four. Install those two in the appropriate folders.
If you lot have the Ultimate Collection that is -
\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\
\Programme Files (x86)\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\CsConfig\
MUST BE INSTALLED IN BOTH FOLDERS
If you lot take the CD's and DVD'south then it is -
\Programme Files (x86)\EA\The Sims 2 - <your nearly current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\Config\
\Programme Files (x86)\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\CSConfig\
MUST BE INSTALLED IN BOTH FOLDERS
5. Go dorsum in the game and cheque. If there's still a problem,
go your config-log.txt and post on my forum for graphics assist.

(Integrated Chipset) This says what sort of graphics bill of fare your game recognises. Note - if you accept a dual card, getting the game to recognise the other card is something that has to be done Exterior the game on the video card side. If you have Windows ten - this needs to be ready up in the Video Cards.sgr to make the game work.
Vendor: Intel
Chipset: Vendor: 8086, Device: 0a16, Board: 85341043, Chipset: 0009 This is the data that is used to set upward the Video Cards.sgr. In detail the Device.

Screen mode: 1920x1080x32BPP,60Hz
Texture retentiveness: 1792MB This needs to be a goodly number for High Resolution. If information technology can't find the texture memory (because Microsoft changed where it looked for it, it sets the game to low resolution and sets this to 32Mb. So of import to check, if it's 32Mb, you need the texture fix for your card.
